I have run with aluminum flywheel this summer, think it works well. The clutch worked better, more smoothly than with the original flywheel. Mikael H.
Application: Porsche® 928 1978-86 with Dual-Disk Clutch
Description: The perfect compliment to any one of our high-performance clutch kits. Our flywheels are machined from a single aluminum billet, then a high-strength alloy steel friction plate is inset for the clutch to run on. Should the friction plate ever need replacement, a new one can be bolted in without replacing the whole flywheel.
The Timing Gear is already heat-shrunk and bonded to the aluminum flywheel for you, so the flywheel will arrive ready to bolt on to the car!
Race-Tested: We have run ours for 3 years on our Supercharged 460HP Porsche® 928 with a very aggressive GT-1 clutch package with no problems or failures. And the increase in speed of engine revving is fantastic!
Fitment Note: The 85/86 US and 84/86 Euro use a 100 tooth timing gear, and the 87-95 use a 60 tooth gear. Specify which one you need when ordering.
