Background: Many Vortech® owners report problems with weeping seals. An impeller seal that leaks allows motor oil into the intake of the motor, where it lowers the octane of the air/fuel mixture and contributes to detonation. We offer both a replacement face seal and a twin-lip seal, one of these is likely to work when the other one does not.
Our Premium Face Seal: This is a direct replacement for the factory face seal, with an upgrade. The OEM seal has a limited range, and has a tendency to crack when over-heated. Our replacement has an extended range and is made from the finest materials for longer life. Customers have been very pleased with the performance of this seal.
Our Premium Twin-Lip Seal: The 928 Motorsports twin-lip seal is custom engineered and manufactured exclusively by us just for this application. It features two lips, the sealing lip pointed inward and a dirt wiper lip pointed outward. Made with PTFE-Coated Viton (able to withstand higher temps and better chemical resistance than nitrile) and a very light compression spring providing just the right amount of radial pressure. These seals have been tested at shaft speeds up to 150,000 rpm without failure. This is the "go to" seal customers turn to when face seals aren't working in their Vortech.
The Input Shaft Seal: The input shaft of your Vortech® is the shaft that the pulley is mounted on. It turns much slower than the impeller shaft, and the sealing of it is much simpler. Our input-shaft seal is automotive-grade nitrile seal providing good durability and a long service life.
Installation Available: You can replace your seals yourself. We can also do this for you as part of a Vortech® supercharger rebuild or seal replacement.
